Eldrick Rodgers was born and raised in Memphis, TN on December 9, 1967. He grew up in the COGIC singing and leading songs in the church choir. He studied vocal music at Carver High, school of performing arts, in Memphis, TN. His ability to sing and arrange music by ear afforded him a music scholarship to Virginia Union University in Richmond, VA where he studied Classical Voice and Commercial Music with a concentration in Composition. Eldrick also studied songwriting at the Berklee School of Music. Eldrick is a former radio announcer at Rust College 88.1 WURC-FM in Holly Springs, MS and 1480 WBBP-AM in Memphis, TN.
Eldrick got his first songwriting break when he wrote a song entitled “You’re Free, Be All You Can Be” for a musical stage production of “Down on Beale” at the Omni-New Daisy Theater in Memphis, TN. His national songwriting exposure began when he joined the Dallas Chapter of the Gospel Music Workshop of America where he was selected to write songs for their local Songwriter’s Conference and the Gospel Music Workshop of America National Convention.
His writing talents took him back to Memphis, TN where his music was shared with local choirs. As a member of the Memphis Chapter of the GMWA, his song “Jesus the Sweetest Name I Know”, was featured at the Gospel Music Workshop of America National Convention. He later became the founder of the Memphis GMWA annual Gospel Songwriter’s Conference. Eldrick is former member of the Dallas Chapter of the GMWA, the Memphis Chapter of the GMWA and the Tennessee Mass Choir.

Eldrick is a member of the Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church in Memphis, TN under the ministry of Reverend Dr. J. Lawrence Turner. He is a single father to one lovely daughter and greatest supporter of his music, Ms. E'Lisia Rodgers.

God has opened many opportunities for Eldrick to minister the gospel of Jesus Christ in song. His most noted opportunities came with numerous invites to minister sermonic solos for the Memphis Bishop-Overseer of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Eldrick lives by Psalm 27:4 KJV: One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in his temple.
